Firepower

This short short could be called an “excerpt” from a novel I hope to one day write. Said novel would be the second part of the Armello Civil War. If you did not read the first part no worries, as the events described here are not really justified there. I wanted to leave enough of a hint as to why the Rabbit Clan is fighting the Bear Clan, without giving away too much of what the novel will be about.

Now, we are never told Barnaby or Hargrave’s actual ages, but in this tale I imagine Barnaby to be an apprentice-level engineer. So, somebody who is still young, in training, while Hargrave is already in his middle age, but before losing his leg. Like always with my fan-fiction and depiction of war… it’s a grim one.

But, I hope you will enjoy it regardless!

Armello Bestiary – Some more

While not a story I wanted to share some more of my creative deliberations on some critters that might or might not be suited for Armello. It is nothing too fancy, but in a world filled with magic I think we can go the extra mile and spice it up a bit.

This includes the Plagueling, but also a few other beings that I thought up (or based off of other mythological/fantasy creatures).

Armello Bestiary – Plagueling

Due to the holiday period I could not focus on my novel all too much, so I decided to write something a tad different. The Plagueling. Now, Armello does not have an extensive Bestiary (it’s a board game after all) so I thought I would throw in a new creature into the mix, if people ever wish to use it for their own ideas.

Plaguelings are small humanoid “Imps”. Affiliated with the Corruption and Rot, they tend to take the form of goats or rats. They are spirits that either come to be when a plague is especially deadly, or when summoned by a warlock. Their bodies lack any internal organs, instead they are goo-like in being, held together only by their own magic. Plaguelings sole purpose is to spread disease and plagues. There are stories of the creatures running through the countryside, traveling from village to village with that aim in mind. When one village falls they head to another. The victims of their countless plagues usually die, but the few unlucky ones who remain alive become Shamblers. Shamblers are plague-ridden, much like the Plaguelings, but greatly weakened and frailer than they were once, when healthy. It even seems the Plaguelings can control the Shamblers, capable of giving them the simplest possible commands.

While the Plaguelings themselves are not tough or strong it is folly to try and fight one up close, since their own bodies are the weapon they so gladly use.

And now, time for a little tale. Enjoy!

Progress Report – Battle of Oakenfall Novel (And a small preview)

Armello

While NaNoWriMo continues and I slowly progress through the novel (it will be tough as nails to get it all done by the end of the month) I wanted to share what I have prepared, to a greater or lesser extent, and that is the first two chapters of the novel.

While it’s just a small chunk of the whole novel, and we still have a way to go I think it’s a nice stopping point to introduce any and all those curious what this is all about.

So, if you wish to read the Novel in its current state (the first two chapters of it) follow the link below to the PDF and be free to download and print it as you see fit. Apologies for any mistakes in the text but I am not a great editor or even a spellchecker. I can at least hope it is readable.

Disclaimer(s): This novel will not be sold for any sum of money, it will be available for free download from this site. At the same time pleasure assume that the characters in the novel, how they are presented and how they act is not part of Armello canon/lore. It’s a work of fan-fiction, and as such I take some liberties in presenting the world in my own way (though hopefully close to the original).

The Battle of Oakenfall is HERE!

Armello

A month of hard work and the Tapestry of the Battle of Oakenfall is finally FINISHED!

Oh, you hoped to see it here? Not so quickly!

Click here to go to the Battle of Oakenfall page, where you will get to see the final tapestry, poem and some more background information on the battle.

Or… click here to find out how the Tapestry was created, with a lot of sketches and drafts to keep you entertained.

Also, all of this would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of Travis Fam. Look at his Deviantart account, look at this work, and order commissions from him. I can be a starving writer but we cannot let the artists starve!

ENJOY!

Loyalty

Armello

I am on an Armello roll, no? Yet another Armello short story, this time focusing on a guardsman who truly believed in his king. In those places where I say “retriever” it is Golden Retriever (since the guardsmen are anthropomorphic dogs). The name of the village Oakenfall comes from within the game’s lore. Enjoy!

In The Works: The Exile

It has been a while since I posted anything, but I have been quietly working on a new project that I hope to complete. This will be a Comic set in Armello (not official lore or anything) and while working on the script I am actively looking for an artist to help me make my script come to life.

Well, what is it about then? The short of it: A man who is an idealist clashes with reality and is forced into Exile for his actions.

It will be a relatively short comic, and once finished I hope to make it available for free to everybody.

We shall see how this comes along, so stay tuned for any updates!
